Jalan is built by drivers, for drivers. Here is exactly what we collect and what we never do with it.
What we store
When you sign in we store your email address and the display name you choose. Your reports, contributed routes, votes and points are stored so the community can see and verify them.
Your location
Your GPS position is used on your device to centre the map, plan routes and guide you while driving. We do not build a history of where you have been, and we never sell location data.
On your device
Recent searches, your chosen car or bike icon and your install preference are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Services we use
Map tiles, place search and directions are provided by a third-party map provider, and ads are served by an advertising partner. These services receive the requests needed to show you maps, places and ads under their own privacy policies.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal data, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not read your private suggestions sent to the team for any other purpose than improving Jalan.
Deleting your account
Open your profile and use Delete account. This removes your sign-in, profile, points and personal data. Community reports and routes you contributed may remain anonymised so the map stays useful for everyone.
